Today, the total area of both Jerusalem and Salem Cemeteries is 26 acres. There is a combined total of approximately 2000 sites still available (not including the Columbarium). Being as the cemeteries represent the predominantly Welsh heritage of the surrounding community, a survey of both reveals that the three most predominant Welsh surnames on the headstones are Jones (336), Williams (209), and Roberts (105). There is now a greater ethnic diversity revealed in the surnames of the more current markers. Just as the population in this area has evolved, so will the history of both cemeteries continue to evolve.

Cemeteries are unique and valuable resources in the community. Within their borders can be found our cultural heritage and ancestral roots. - Inscriptions, April 1991
